Wombats, London
London can be a pricey place to stay and hostels are an excellent option if you’re traveling to the City for a few days, leaving more money to spend on food, drinks and experiences in the City.
Wombats is a firm favourite when I’m traveling to the City and offers a prime location, easy access to East London (Shoreditch, Brick Lane, Truman Brewery and other areas). It is close to Tower Bridge, The Tower of London and within close reach of transportation links to other areas. It has developed over the last few years currently offering storage lockers, a cafe near the reception area and lots of work space downstairs by the kitchen or upstairs to get on with any work you may have or have a conversation with someone, always better than doing work whilst traveling!
Rooms and Atmosphere
There are several floors at Wombats and all the rooms are spacious, have modern clean bathrooms and feel safe.
Its always excellent when staff are engaging and friendly, as this can make the world of difference for someone who has been traveling, come from the airport or is jet lagged and can never be underestimated and in my experience, Wombats have always done this well.
Even though Wombats is in the middle of built up London, it offers a roof terrace with yoga practice and other activities and it is definitely worth going to check it out. There is a chill out room close to the top of the building too, this space offers some incredible views over London and is often the brilliant asset of many hostels, the hidden spaces to see the City from different perspective on a minimal price tag.
