The Central House, Barcelona
It is listed as being in Gràcia, it’s located at the top of Passeig de Gracia, close to Diagonal and Passeig de Gràcia metro stop, where you can catch the train to and from the airport, it’s roughly a 40 minute journey (approximately 5 euros).
It’s located in a residential area and honestly, the first time I stayed here, it took me a while to find it, until I realised it’s not advertised outside due to it being in a residential area.
Once you find the buzzer, you’ll be buzzed in and the hostel is located on the first floor, so not too far to walk with your bags and there is a lift if needed.
The hostel itself is very light and airy with lots of tables and spaces to work, if you are a digital nomad, it is a great spot.
There is an array of toilets and shower rooms, I never had to wait for one, although, I have mainly stayed here in non busy seasons.

The rooms and atmosphere
The rooms are spacious and the beds come with a curtain, which is a non negotiable for some, it definitely feels more private and relaxing with a curtain but can also mean people socialise less.
What do you prefer? Curtain or no curtain?
The rooms come with lockers, don’t forget to bring your own padlock and some of the rooms have a mini balcony with a view out onto the street, which is great to let some air circulate and to see the lovely views.
There is a beautiful terrace outside with lots of tables and chairs, a laundry room and places to hang your washing if needed.
It is a gorgeous space for relaxing, working, socializing or getting some fresh air.
For me, this hostel is an excellent place to stay if you want some calm and get some work done, I loved staying here, as the age ranges are very mixed, always good.
The last time I stayed here I met a lovely lady in her late sixties, who told me she travels a lot but had got sick of staying in hotels, as she began to feel lonely on her travels and even if she didn’t speak to anyone at the hostels she stayed, it made her feel better and happier knowing other people were around.
Could this be your next place to stay, let me know if you do and what you think?
