Safestay Passeig de Gracia, Barcelona
Safestay Passeig de Gracia, Barcelona, centrally located with a few floors, I honestly can’t remember how many but enough to have lots of netting on each floor to prevent any accidents. I’d heard and read mixed reviews about this hostel but the best way to form an opinion, is to go and experience it for yourself, which is exactly what I did.
One Friday night, I got an excellent deal of 20 euros for a 14 dorm room.
Upon entering the entrance is grand and staff friendly, I did ask what the building used to be but unfortunately there was no answer.
Safestay team, what did this beautiful building use to be please?
Beautiful glasswork
Delightful exteriors
Pool table
Breakfast board
Views from the room
To the terrace
Dining room
The netting
Big ideas, real impact
Here are a few things I loved about Safestay, Passeig de Gracia, Barcelona
It is a great price for a central location, one step and you’re in the heart of the City centre
Some of the features of the beautiful building were incredible
There is lounge area with cool furniture and it was a great space to chill out in
There are lockers in the rooms spacious enough to store a large bag (bring your own padlock, of course!)
If you walk to the top of the building you’ll find a gorgeous terrace where you can enjoy your breakfast under the gorgeous blue skies, whilst checking out the people strolling about the roof of Casa Batllo.

Positives
There were many positives to my stay at Safestay Passeig de Gracia, it has what I would say were old school bunk beds, youth hostel stylee and the people in my mixed dorm were mostly, in their twenties, however, I did see a lot more different age ranges at the entrance and on the terrace.
The corridors were a bit disorientating, as there are white tiles everywhere but once you have found your bearings, the layout of the floors becomes a bit easier.
The bathrooms are small but clean, the ones on my floor were anyway.
All in all, I would stay again at this price but have seen prices fluctuate during high season and if it they were much higher, it would be great to have some upgrades on the furniture and rooms. I’m not sure how I’d feel if I was paying 40 euros or more a night, even though its super central.
Have you ever stayed here? and what are your thoughts?
